Your caste certificate for verification
To get the Verified badge on Tribal Hearts you upload two documents: a government ID and your caste certificate. Most delays come from the certificate: a blurry photo, a cut-off seal, or the wrong document by mistake. This guide helps you get it right the first time.
Why we ask for it
Tribal Hearts is for India's tribal communities. The certificate lets our team confirm that a Verified member really belongs to one, so families can trust the badge. When your caste certificate is approved, you also get 3 extra contacts, once.
Which document to upload
Upload the caste certificate issued to you by your state government. It usually names your tribe and states that it is a Scheduled Tribe. Upload your own certificate, in your name.
If you don't have one yet
Caste certificates are issued by state governments, usually through the revenue department. Depending on your state, the tehsil, circle or sub-division office handles them. Many states take applications online on their public service portal, at a Lok Seva Kendra, or at a Common Service Centre (CSC).
The office will tell you which papers to bring. Proof of where you live and a family member's caste certificate or land record are commonly asked for. Rules and names differ from state to state, so check with your local office first.
You can make your profile while you wait. Full profiles and chat open once you are verified.
Taking a photo that passes first time
Lay the certificate flat on a plain, dark surface.
Use daylight from a window and switch off the flash, so there is no glare on the seal or your name.
Hold the phone straight above the page so all four corners are in the photo.
Zoom in on the photo and check that your name, the tribe, the seal and the signature can all be read.
If your state gave you a digital certificate as a PDF, upload the PDF itself rather than a photo of a screen.
Common reasons a document is sent back
- The photo is blurry or too dark.
- Part of the page is cut off.
- Glare covers the seal, the signature or your name.
- A different document was uploaded by mistake.
If this happens, the app tells you the reason in Hindi or English, and you simply upload a clearer copy.
Who sees your certificate
- Only our review team. Other members never see it, and it is never used for matching.
- Reviewers lose access 24 hours after the decision on your case, and the documents are deleted within 48 hours of that decision.
- You can leave a mobile number for our team, only so they can ask you about a missing page. Other members never see it.
A review usually takes one to three days. Read the whole process on how verification works.
