Community Guidelines — Tribal Hearts
Tribal Hearts exists to help members of Scheduled Tribe communities find genuine life partners. Everyone on this app deserves to feel safe, respected, and seen. These guidelines are the rules of the road. Reading them takes 4 minutes and saves us all a lot of trouble.
TL;DR: Be honest about who you are. Treat others the way you would want your sister, brother, or child treated. Don't ask people to leave the platform until you're sure. Report anything that feels wrong — we will look.
1. Honesty about identity
- Use your real name. Nicknames are okay if a community member would recognise you by them.
- Upload your own photographs. Group photos are fine; staged photos of someone else are not.
- Be truthful about age, marital status, tribe, sub-tribe, language, education, and occupation. Lying about any of these is an instant removal.
- "Profile for parent / sibling" must be filled with the consent of the person you are representing.
2. Respecting tribal identity
Tribal Hearts is built around tribal identity. That is a sacred thing in many communities. We expect:
- No mocking, generalising, or stereotyping of any tribe or sub-tribe.
- No appropriation: don't claim a tribal identity that is not yours.
- No conversion pressure: if a match has a different religion or tradition, do not pressure or shame them.
- Use the endonym (the name the community uses for itself) when available. Our list of tribes follows the Government of India Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order, 1950 + Census 2011 + Ministry of Tribal Affairs notifications. If your tribe isn't listed correctly, write to admin@garibaitservices.com with a reference and we will update it.
3. Safe communication
- Keep early conversations on the platform. Do not move to phone / WhatsApp / Telegram until you both feel ready.
- Do not share your bank account, UPI, PAN, Aadhaar, OTPs, or passwords with anyone you meet here. Tribal Hearts staff will never ask for any of these.
- Avoid sending money or gifts to people you have not met in person.
- If a conversation feels off — pressure, manipulation, or sudden money asks — report it.
4. What is NOT allowed
This list is not exhaustive but it captures most of what we remove:
Sexual content - Nudity or partial nudity. - Sexually explicit text or voice messages. - Solicitation of any kind.
Harassment, abuse, hate - Insulting or threatening individuals. - Casteist, racist, or communal slurs. - Doxxing (publishing someone's address, workplace, or family details without consent). - Misogyny, victim-blaming, slut-shaming.
Fraud, scams, manipulation - Asking for money, loans, or gifts. - Asking for sensitive credentials (PIN, OTP, Aadhaar number). - Pretending to be from a government agency, bank, or NGO. - Promising visas, jobs, or matches abroad. - Multi-level marketing or any "business opportunity" pitch.
Trafficking, exploitation, harm - Any indication of human trafficking is a P0 emergency. We will report it to NCRB and local police. - Forced marriage. Both parties must be willing adults. - Dowry demands or coded references to "tilak", "ladaki", "gift".
Minors - Profiles for or about minors are removed immediately and reported.
Spam and impersonation - Profiles whose only purpose is promotion (events, services, items). - Impersonating celebrities, government officials, or any other user.
Self-harm - Glorifying self-harm or suicide. We will offer crisis resources via iCall (+91-9152987821) and direct the user to local emergency services.
Illegal substances and weapons - Sale, promotion, or imagery of illegal drugs or weapons.
Content from other platforms without rights - Reposting copyrighted images, music, or text without permission.
5. Photos
- At least one clear face photo is required for verification.
- No nudity, no underwear shots, no children other than as part of a family group photo.
- No watermarked stock photos. We screen for these.
- Maximum 6 profile photos at MVP. Larger limits unlock with verified accounts post-launch.
6. Voice notes and calls
- All voice/video calls are between matched users only.
- Calls are not recorded by us. If a recording is shared, it is the responsibility of both parties.
- Abusive language during a call is grounds for report. Calls can be blocked from Settings → Privacy.
7. Reporting and the review process
- Tap the report icon on any profile, message, photo, or call notification.
- Choose a category (harassment, fraud, fake profile, sexual content, underage, other).
- Add a short note describing what happened. Screenshots help, but are not required.
- A trained reviewer looks at every report within 24 hours.
- Actions we can take: warning, content removal, temporary suspension, permanent ban, escalation to police.
- You will receive a status update in your notifications inbox.
8. Appeals
If your account or content was actioned and you believe it was a mistake:
- Open Settings → Help & Support and submit an appeal.
- Include the relevant profile ID and a short explanation.
- We aim to respond within 7 days. Severe cases may take longer.
9. Local emergency resources
If you or someone you know is in danger:
- National Helpline for Women in Distress (India): 181
- Police (India): 112
- Childline India: 1098
- iCall (mental health support): +91-9152987821
- National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal: cybercrime.gov.in
- Anti-trafficking helpline: 1098 (Childline) / 1091 (Women)
We will help you connect with these if you ask via admin@garibaitservices.com.
10. How we enforce
We use a combination of:
- Rule-based filters for obvious cases (phone numbers in chat, blacklisted words, links to known scam sites).
- Local AI moderation for ambiguous cases. The AI does not make final decisions; it flags content for a human reviewer.
- Manual review for verification documents and every reported case.
- Automated security: per-mobile OTP cap, refresh-token reuse detection, rate-limits.
When in doubt, we ask. We will always reach out to you before a permanent ban for anything but the most clear-cut cases.
11. A note to our community
Tribal Hearts is run by a very small team. We are not a faceless platform; we are doing our best to build something useful for a community that has been historically underserved by mainstream apps. If something feels off, write to us. If something is great, also write to us. We are listening, and we will get better with your help.
